The following is a list of courses presently offered by The Dogwood Institute School of Fine Woodworking. Each course is two, three or five days long depending on the content. The Foundations For Fine Woodworking Series is very popular for beginners as it “walks the participant” through five two-day classes offered at various times throughout the year. The individual may select each class and progresses at his or her own pace according to their comfort level and personal schedules. For the participant that wishes to take the classes in a concentrated timeframe, we are now offering Foundations 101, whereby, it is possible to take Foundations 1, 2 and 3 all within the same week. This is particularly popular for those individuals coming from a distance and wanting to concentrate the Foundations classes. Foundations 201 also, consolidate Foundations 4 and 5 into one week as well. This way, participants have more flexibility.

Please note: Foundations 1, 2 & 3 must be taken in sequence and no matter what your experience or skill level this sequence must be followed. Foundations 4 and 5 may be taken interchangeably, however, must follow taking Foundations 1, 2 & 3.

Other classes include wood turning, marquetry, building a shaker table, making a night stand, Jewelry box, making shopmade jigs, as well as, turningChristmas ornaments. Highlight the class of interest and adescription will appear. We will be offering several other project classes so be sure to visit our website often and get an update. We will also be happy to place you in our data base to receive our newsletter via email so please be sure to sign up in the “CONTACT US” section of our website.

NOTE: Participants do not have to be enrolled or have taken the Foundations Series to enroll in one or more of these courses.
